Train Air Horns Are More Accessible Than Ever
The extra loud blare of an approaching locomotive is a sound that is nostalgic for many and thoroughly enjoyed by many more. Only those people who live near tracks who are subjected to the sound on a regular basis seem to have a major complaint about the noise. And, ironically, it’s often these same people who develop a nostalgic feel for the sound once they’ve moved away from it.
There are also those people who just plain love the fact that the sound is so very loud. It’s these people who first figured out that they could be added to passenger vehicles in the first place. Unfortunately, as the trend caught on many train air horns simply disappeared from parked locomotives. The thefts began to trend down again once train air horns were developed for the automotive aftermarket accessory market.
